If there is not a listing provider on the page, you can add the listing on ExpressUpdateUSA.com. This could take up to 60 days before you see your listing.

        The second way is not free, but it does offer a far quicker turnaround than their free option. By signing up with Yext PowerListings, your listing not only gets listed onto 411.com, but also onto at least seven other reputable websites. They have four pricing package options ranging from $17.00 to $68.00 per month depending on your needs.

 

2.       8coupons.com 

        Also using Yext PowerListings, 8coupons.com scours websites such as Groupon, livingsocial, GILTCITY, and other coupon sites to show comparisons and find the best deals to present to users. Get listed onto 8coupons.com by signing up with Yext PowerListings. They have packages that are billed annually at prices ranging from $17.00 to $68 per month depending on your customization. They will list your business onto at least seven other websites.

        This website allows anyone to make their own web page to showcase their business and/or services. Best of all, it is free! It is a fairly simple, professional looking platform that displays any information about you that you would like to provide and it even allows a place for linking to your other websites such as Twitter or providing links to some work that you have done and want to show off. 

        These web pages are designed to be one-stop shops for customers when they are searching for a reputable business or service provider. The even offer statistics to each of the web page owners so that they can see where their traffic is coming from and what people looked at on their page. To sign up, just click the green “Join For Free” button on their home page.

        After throwing their name out into the world for the past few years, Angie’s List has become one of the more reputable go to websites when a homeowner is looking for a business or service provider.

        While the homeowners do have to pay a membership fee to look up businesses and service providers, to actually get your business listed is free! This feature will allow your business to show up on their listings page and will allow members to leave feedback about your business.

        If you want to also have Angie’s List do some advertising for you, they offer a few options from their call center agents recommending your business to posting your business in the Angie’s List Magazine. This advertising feature, of course, come at a cost depending on the advertising you need.

7.       AOL Yellow Pages

        While creating your listing through Yellow Pages for AOL Yellow Pages is free, to actually have it published on the YP.com website comes with a fee. To advertise your business with them, click on the yellow button on the home page that says, “Can’t find your business? Advertise with us.”

        AOL Yellow Pages offers every category imaginable from Adoption Agencies, Travel Agents, and Hair Salons to Bicycle Shops, Lawyers, and Restaurants. It is easy to see why Yellow Pages has grown tremendously from the vast amount of diversity among each category.

        AreaGuides is a site that offers localized information about each city, allowing business owners to get their name out there among their own city. Their business search is provided by Yellow Pages, so signing up with YellowPages.com, or YP.com, will get your listing to show up on AreaGuides if your city is searched for. You can get your business listed with Yellow Pages by going to their home page and clicking the yellow button that says, “Can’t find your business? Advertise with us.”

9.       Avantar 

        While no fee is given on their website, it also does not say it is free. To advertise your business on Avantar, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Advertise.” Then click the red button that says, “Reach Customers Now.” You will be taken to an online email submission page that will send a direct email to their advertising branch. They will then send you an email with the details on how to advertise your business with them.

        This business has proven trustworthy for the lasts few decades. We all feel the same way whenever we see “BBB accredited business.” We feel a little safer with that company.

        While being a BBB accredited business sounds and looks good, there is a process to go through before you can earn that title. First, you must follow the BBB Code of Business Practices, which can be found on their website here: http://www.bbb.org/us/bbb-accreditation-standards/.

        Then you can apply for BBB accreditation, but be sure to include an undisclosed fee with your application. Your application will be reviewed and a decision will be made based on if your business meets the BBB standards.

11.    Best of the Web

        This website provides directories of polished content and well designed web pages that are on the Internet. Best of the Web offers a few price options to chose from depending on your needs, but the cheapest one is to purchase a web directory listing only that will also include links to your social media websites for $149.95 per year or a $299.95 one-time fee.

        Their other option is to purchase a web directory listing that includes all of the details about your business and links to your social media websites as well as a local listing for $199.95 per year with no one-time fee offer.

        Listing your business with Bing is fairly painless and offers great exposure as they continue to expand.

Enter your business information into the search field and Bing will make sure that your business isn’t already listed. If it is not, click on “Add New Business” and log into your Microsoft account-it is free to sign up for a Microsoft account if you don’t have one.

        Once you are signed up, you can go through the steps to get your listing live on Bing.com for free!

13.   The Business Journals

        With a platform that is much like the famed Angie’s List, The Business Journals connects businesses with customers and allows the customers to leave feedback for each business for everyone to see.

        They have four pricing structures-free, bronze, silver, and gold. The free account will display all of your business information as well as a link to your website. The gold listing on the other hand will list your directory listing above all of the free, bronze, and silver listings. A gold listing will also show your company logo, hours of operations, and listing badge along with all of your business information.

14.   BrownBook.net

        BrownBook.net allows users and businesses owners to add a business listing for free to their website. Until the listing is claimed-also free-by the business owner anyone can edit the listing information. Once the listing is claimed, though, editing is not available to everyone. After you create and claim your listing, you can customize it for free by adding your logo, videos, links, and more.

        While they do offer more complex advertising packages at a cost, their basic listing package will get your listing up and live.

15.   Bundle

        By using collected spending data, Bundle.com rates businesses by the amount of repeat business, the number of people who go to the business, and how much money is spent at the business by customers.

        They offer unbiased ratings from raw data rather than consumer opinions, offering a unique perspective to the five-star rating system.

        Listing your business on Bundle.com is fairly easy, but it can’t be done through their website. They get almost all of their data from a third party website like localeze.com. However, in order to list your business with that website, you will have to pay and undisclosed amount.

        ChamberOfCommerce.com will add your listing to their directory of small businesses and business services. They have four prices to choose from so you can take your pick depending on the needs of your company.

        The basic package is free, which is nice. This will list your business in up to six categories on their directory. You will also be given a business profile with this package.

        Their most expensive package is for $299.99 per month and will give you everything in the basic package as well as social media promotions, monthly Google Places reporting, and verification of your businesses Google Places page.

        They do offer in two in between packages, one for $19.99 per month and the other for $149.99 per month. They do appear to offer almost the same features, though.

17.   Citysearch 

        Citysearch lets consumers look up any type of business or service within a certain city. Their listings are brought by CityGrid. CityGrid is a lot like Yext.com, but it seems to target different websites to advertise your business. Once you sign up with CityGrid, depending on the price package that you choose, they will send your business listing to hundreds of websites and mobile apps.

        Their prices begin at $99.00 per month to send out your listing to multiple places. However, they do offer a free option for those that only want to claim their business on only Citysearch. To go with the free option, choose the “Citysearch only” option when you are choosing where to promote your business or service.

        After receiving a lot of spam and inaccurate information, this website no longer offers their free advertising service. You could still sign up for one of their membership packages, though.

        CitySlick helps to connect keyword search traffic to your website. They currently offer three packages, each with it’s own special feature. The first option is for $3.99 per year and the next is for $9.99 per year. Then their highest priced option is for $99.99, but it is a one time fee and does not expire.

19.   CitySquares 

        Like a few other websites out there, CitySquares offers consumers to be able to connect to business and service providers using their location. Once your business is listed, consumers are allowed to vote for your business and provide feedback.

        They do offer a free listing through their website as well as two other packages at $2.49 and $4.99 per month. With each package, they automatically search engine optimize your business location information so that you can be found easier through search engines.

        They do offer a free business listing as well as the option to pay for a listing at $19.95 per month. The free listing will provide consumers with all of your business information, you have unlimited content on your profile, track profile views, and edit your listing anytime you need to.

For small and medium businesses, they offer the ability to claim and mange your listings within a local search. You can also pick the multi-location business, which will allow you to manage and claim you listings on up to 150 websites. The last service they offer is if you manage more than one business. You can manage them all in one platform with them.

        Highlighting the connection of local business with consumers, this website displays business reviews and allows consumers to “share” your business with their social network.

        It does appear that setting up a profile is free, however to advertise your business for exposure, you will have to pick from one of their three paid packages.

        Manta is specialized to help small businesses grow. Over the years their name has been promoted and is backed by Fox Business-Small Business Center.

        To get listed on Manta, it is free, but they do offer upgraded profiles that are paid for that “get an average of 40 more views per week than basic profiles.”

        Click on the yellow button that says, “Add Your Business,” at the top right hand side of their home page. Then, enter in your business information and create a profile. Once all you information is entered, you are taken to a page that features all of their different paid profile packages. The have three options at $29.00, $39.00, and $49.00 per month depending on the needs of your business. If you do not want any options and only want to stick to the free profile, scroll to the bottom of their chart and click on “No Thanks. Continue to My Profile.” This will list your business as a basic profile.

51.   MapQuest 

        Listing a business on MapQuest makes sense because of the vast amount of people who use it. Best of all, to simply list your business, it is free! If you want to get a little more for your listing, they do offer Premium listings at an undisclosed price as well.

        It does not appear that a business listing is free on their web page, but their rates seem to be different depending on the type of business that you are listing.

        To get your business listed on TripAdvisor, scroll to the very bottom of their home page and click on “Business Listings.” Then click on the orange “Check Rates” button where you will enter in your business name and city so that your rates will be available for you to see.

        To get signed up to list your business, scroll to the bottom of their home page and click on “Business” beside the “About” heading. You will be taken to the page that shows all of their packages. You can click on each package to determine what will work best with your business and then go through the steps to get your business listed.

        Twibs simply is a Twitter Business Directory. If your business is on Twitter, you can add it to Twibs so that is can be found on their business portal when consumers are searching.

        Adding your business is fairly simple.         Yellow Assistance brings users and businesses together by providing users with review based listings that are relevant to their search. To add a business listing to their website is free, but to have your business advertised by them comes with a fee.

        To list your business for free, scroll to the bottom of their home page and click on “Add or Update Listing.” You will then search by your business phone number to see if your business is already in their system for you to edit. If it is not in their system, you will automatically be taken to the page to enter in all the information about your business. Once everything is filled out, click “Submit.” It could take up to 72 business hours for your listing to get posted.

It does not say how much that service costs, but it also does not say that it is free.

        Connecting consumers with businesses or service providers, YellowPageCity.com allows consumers to search locally by either a business or service category or by business name.

        To list your business with them, scroll to the bottom of their home page and click on “Add or Update Your Listing.” Then you will enter your business name, zip code, address, and phone number to get a listings report on if your business is listed with YellowPageCity.com as well as nine other websites.

        If your business is not showing as listed on YellowPageCity.com, click on the “Fix Listing” button. This will take you to the page to enter all of your business information for your listing. Once that is submitted, a representative will contact you to verify your business. This does appear to be free.

        Yelp is one of the better-known reviewed based websites. It allows users to leave feedback and reviews about all types of businesses and service providers.

        Yelp does get their business listings licensed from a third party source, so it would not be uncommon if your business were already listed with them. If it is and you would like to start managing your listing, or if your business is not already listed with them, you can set up an account for free.

        To do this, scroll to the bottom of their home page and click on “Business Support” underneath the “Help” heading.  Then on the top left hand side of the page click on “Log In To You Account. From there you can click the red button that says “Create Your Free Account Now” and you will be walked through the steps of setting up your business account.
